EXTENDED REALITY
A NEW FINE ART PHOTOGRAPHY MEDIUM

MONUMENTAL: Exhibition Loop (Short Version)

From plates, to film, to digital, to smartphones, every age invents new tools to capture our world. XR (Extended Reality) - integrated with AI - marks the next big change in how we see. XR + AI are no longer ideas for the future, they’re becoming part of our everyday lives. XR is projected to be a $500 Billion industry by 2030. Digital forms will blend into our sight, literally changing how we see the world. It will shape our senses, memories, desires, and choices even more than they do now.
I believe using new technology consciously is essential to preserve our humanity and our natural world. As the worlds's first XR fine art photographer, my practice embraces the boundaries between the digital and the organic, the ephemeral and the permanent, the human and the machine. To expand what photography can be.

PROCESS
I combine stills photography, animation, 3D modelling and photogrammetry to create synthetic forms. These are then integrated into the real world using XR tech. Working on location, I capture everything in-camera, allowing the natural environment, weather, light and space to shape the outcome. The camera sees the real and the imagined co-existing in real-time.
