EXTENDED
REALITY
A NEW FINE ART PHOTOGRAPHY MEDIUM

MONUMENTAL: Exhibition Loop (Short Version)

I believe exploring our relationship with technology is essential if we are to preserve both our humanity and the natural world. Every age invents new tools to see itself, and photography has always redefined vision. From glass plates, to film, to digital, to smartphones. Extended Reality XR (Extended Reality), combined with AI marks the next big change in how we see.
XR + AI are no longer ideas for the future. They’re becoming a part of our everyday lives. Analysts project that AR alone will become a $76 billion market by 2030. Digital overlays will soon blend into our sight, changing how we see the world. AI's role will shape our senses, memories, desires, and choices even more. Who we are will be increasingly guided by machines.
As the worlds's first XR Fine Art Photographer, I am developing XR and AI-generated imagery as a new photographic medium. My practice embraces these technologies, not as mere tools of spectacle. I treat them as a fine art medium in their own right, one that collapses boundaries: between the digital and the organic, the ephemeral and the permanent, the human and the machine.
My work investigates how these technologies alter human perception, reshape cultural symbols, and expand what photography can be.
“Honestly one of the most creative uses of Gen-AI I’ve seen”

PROCESS
I combine photography, AI, XR, Animation, 3D Modelling, Photogrammetry and live projection to create images that exist between reality and imagination. Any AI generated forms are treated as raw material rather than finished work. These synthetic forms are then integrated into real environments through Extended Reality, or projected physically in space. The aim is not to add layers in post-production but to place digital and organic elements together in real time, where they can interact with light, space, and atmosphere.
Working on location, I capture everything in-camera, allowing chance, weather, and the natural world to shape the outcome. The camera records not only what is present but what is imagined, producing hybrid images that feel lived rather than manufactured. By combining machine-made visions with lived environments, I create work that blurs boundaries between the synthetic and the real.
