Based on the many conversations I've had with people living with chronic health conditions, PLINTH is a distant exchange between two people who’ve never met – but do have something in common. A shared experience that most of us will never know anything about.
“I’ve seen people on the train and felt an affinity WITH them immediately. But the thing you have in common is this thing that you probably don't even want to.
And so it’s like a magnet that pulls and repels at the same time. It’s like ‘I see you from afar’ and now let's move on.”

I met Tim a few years ago and was humbled by his attitude towards his health condition. He’s putting all his energy into creating his own art these days. One of his projects ‘Over the Hill’ has seen him photographed by over 400 photographers – including the likes of Rankin, Barry Lategan and Harry Borden. I was honoured to be part of the project.
Tim also took part in an Anthony Gormley project - where he danced to Madness on Forth Plinth in Trafalgar Square. To pass on the torch of owning your situation. My other friend Emma was diagnosed in her early thirties.
