Being Shamsa

Meet Shamsa, a young mum who was diagnosed with Parkinson's aged 28. As Shamsa is about my age, I wanted to see if I could be the interviewer and the film crew - to achieve a more intimate film. I spent ten hours with Shamsa and her family, and shot the whole thing as a real hand-held conversation - trying to get away from traditional interview style.

I then cut the footage into six short episodes, which are all tied together here. This was created as an inspirational piece for the community surrounding Parkinson's, and was launched episodically via the Parkinson's UK Facebook page. EP1 here:
